Verizon approached us to develop a campaign around its Software Defined Network offering, aimed at C-suite decision-makers within large organisations. What began as a brief for a video quickly grew into a wider challenge: how do you make a complex technology proposition engaging, memorable and worth the attention of some very busy people?
The campaign needed to cut through across multiple sectors, combining a strong central idea with supporting creative that could extend into direct marketing, digital and other campaign touchpoints.

We developed the campaign concept from the ground up, using the idea of a mysterious white box to create intrigue and give the technology a tangible, memorable presence. From strategy and concept development through to the wider campaign thinking, we built an idea designed to draw people in before revealing what was inside.
The white box was a way of simplifying what Verizon’s network orchestration software does for businesses. - so I would tweak this wording. Maybe ‘We developed the campaign concept from the ground up, using the white box as a way of explaining what Network Orchestration does for Enterprise businesses.’ or something along those lines.
We managed the entire video production process, from sourcing locations and casting actors to filming, editing and visual effects. The campaign extended beyond the screen too, with supporting creative and a bespoke illuminated promotional cube featuring its own video display and speakers, turning the central campaign idea into something people could physically experience.
What started as a request for a single campaign video became a fully integrated creative campaign with multiple ways to engage its audience. The white box provided a distinctive thread that could run through video, digital and direct marketing, helping turn a complex enterprise technology message into something far more intriguing and memorable.
The campaign gave Verizon a bold, flexible platform that combined storytelling, physical experience and digital content, all built around one simple idea.

Eric DeRose, Product Marketing Manager Verizon
The campaign delivered well beyond Verizon’s initial expectations. Of the 250 versions of the direct marketing campaign, Verizon had hoped to generate at least one meeting. Instead, the campaign directly generated six meetings, with a further 19 in the planning stages.
More importantly, it demonstrated the value of looking beyond the original brief. By turning a request for a video into a wider campaign, we helped Verizon create something designed not just to explain a complex product, but to get the right people talking.
